Detailed Description of the
CT1500:
CT1500 VMax Charge Tank CT-1500 Charge Tank 1500 System Watt 60 AH Battery Model CT-1500 Part No. CT1500
Syst. Watts (rms): 1500 AH: 60 Burst Amps: 1700 CCA: 1200 Dimensions: 9.2" X 5.5" X 8.3"
Sealed Construction: The unique construction and sealing techniques of VMax tanks guarantee leak proof operation in and position with no adverse effect to capacity or service life. VMax tanks are classified as non-spill able, non-hazardous, dry batteries making them NOT restricted for Surface, Maritime and Air Transport. Electrolyte Suspension system: VMax tanks utilize an electrolyte suspension system consisting AGM (Absorbed Glass Matt) of a high porosity that totally absorb and contain the electrolyte. No silica gels or any other contaminants are used.
Gas Generation: VMax tanks incorporate a built-in design that controls gas generation and induces recombination of more than 99% of gases generated during float usage.
Maintenance Free Operation: There is no need to check specific gravity of the electrolyte or add water to VMax tanks during float service life. In fact, there is no provision for this type of maintenance. Low Pressure Valve Regulated System: All VMax tanks are equipped with safety release valves, designed to operate between 0.98-196.1kpa and automatically reseal. Hence, there is never an excessive accumulation of gas within the battery. Heavy Duty Grids: Heavy duty lead tin alloy grids provide an extra margin of performance and service life in either float or cyclic applications, even after repeated over discharges.
Cyclic Service Life: VMax is known to deliver one of the highest numbers of discharge / recharge cycles. Depending on the use and average depth of discharge it can offer an average of:
Number Of Cycles : Depth of Discharge 300 : 100% 600 : 75% 900 : 50% 1500 : 25% 3500+ : 10%
Float Service Life: VMax tanks have an expected life span of 5 to 8 years in float service applications.
Low Self Discharge: The self discharge rate of the new VMax tanks at room temperature is approximately 1-2% of rated capacity per month (compared to 2-3%.for most other AGM batteries and 15-20% for Lead Acid batteries).
Operating Temperature: VMax tanks may be operate+S52d over a broad range of ambient temperatures. Ultra Low Resistance: VMax tanks Ultra Low Resistance make it up to 99% efficient (compared to 85-95% as in Lead Acid Batteries and 97% in most other GEL and AGM batteries).
Higher Power Density: A special assembly technology is used to enhance power density to a considerable level. Reliable Construction: The extra strong construction ABS container reduces case bulging and plate warping, ensuring long life and high performance.
USE & CARE:
- Never short circuit the VMax. - Store in a cool and dry location. Avoid locations where freezing or high temperature (above 80F) is expected. - Do not fully discharge the VMax before recharging since it does not develop a memory. - Completely charge the VMax before storing and before re-activating. - Charge the VMax after each period of use. - Do not overcharge the VMax. Choosing a Charger: The use of a 3 stage charger prolongs the VMax life. These chargers - AKA: Smart, Automatic, Microprocessor Controlled, IEI- have three charging stages that changes as the VMax charge increases. It switches from Bulk to Acceptance to Float. The recommended rating of the charger is 10-15% of the 20 AH rating of the VMax in use (1-1.5% of the Wattage Capability for the Audio Series). It will take a 10% rated charger a period of 10 hours to fully charge a fully discharged VMax. Changing any of the variables can be prorated accordingly - so increasing the charger rating by 10% will lower charging time by 10% and so on. In the case of an urgent need for a fully charged VMax, higher rating chargers can be used provided that the VMax voltage is continuously monitored and the charger's rating is never above 30% of the 20 AH of the VMax, more than 1 hour and then charging shall resume at the 10% rate.
